The Cadet-Q BBQ Team started off Spring Break by representing the #CadetStandard with pride! They received the following accolades at today's competition:
Pork Chops - Reserve Grand
Skirt Steak - 5th Place
Chicken - Reserve Grand
Ribs - 4th Place
Chili - 3rd Place
The team finished the competition ranked as the OVERALL GRAND CHAMPIONS!
The week of March 4-March 8 is Educational Diagnostician and School Social Worker Week!
Our district is fortunate to have Courtney Jones, Kelsi Nelson, and Erin Whitley to share their expertise with us as diagnosticians. Ashley Patterson goes above and beyond to share her knowledge and skills as our district's social worker.
Our district is beyond lucky for the amazing work that these four ladies do for our students! They are great examples of the #CadetStandard!
Tonight's softball game against Waxahachie Life has been rescheduled due to the possibility of inclement weather. The game will now be played on March 8.

Thanks to the generosity of Pi Beta Phi and FirstBook Marketplace, we have received 985 FREE books for our students! The retail value of this donation is $12,135.85.
Our Instructional Technology Specialist, Mr. Choins, drove down to Austin to pick up the books. The hallway of our administration building is full of books! We can't wait to put them in the hands of students!
Today is Primary Election Day in Texas! We strongly encourage all eligible voters to participate and cast their vote. Participating in democracy is part of the #CadetStandard!

Congratulations to the CHS Theatre Department! Their production of "EPIC PROPORTIONS" advanced to the Bi-District round of competition! Congratulations to the following students for receiving individual awards at the District 23-4A competition:

The Bi-District 23/24-4A One Act Play contest will be held on March 21 at Burnet High School.
Connally ISD is open for normal instruction next week! Spring Break for CISD will start with an early release on Thursday, March 7. Students will return to class on Monday, March 18.

Attention Track Fans! Field events have been canceled at today's track meet in Lake Worth. Running events have been moved up and will now start at 3:00 PM.
GOOD NEWS ALERT!
Thanks to recent upgrades to our high school auditorium's lighting and sound equipment and some phenomenal renovations made to the space by the CISD Maintenance Department, Connally ISD is now an in demand venue for One Act Play competitions!
CHS Theatre is excited to host students from Grandview HS, West HS, Grapevine-Colleyville Collegiate Academy, Maypearl HS, Clifton HS, and Keene HS at the District 17-3A One Act Play contest tomorrow!
Our students will get the chance to see some awesome theatrical productions while also showing off their workspace. The facility rental fee will also help our theatre department out as they work to continue providing excellent opportunities for performers and audience members alike!
Connally ISD is aware that several users are having difficulty accessing this week's edition of THE FLYOVER. We have discovered that our newsletter platform is experiencing service disruptions. The district is actively working to address the situation.
Due to the availability of officials, this week's soccer game against Hearne has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 28. The game will be played AT CONNALLY at 5:30 PM.

For the first time in school history, Connally High School students competed at the TXPSTA STATE Competition. Our Law Enforcement students did a fantastic job representing the #CadetStandard as they faced off against students from 36 other schools throughout the state (most of which were 5As and 6As).
Special congratulations goes to Katlyn Wiese, who placed 3rd in Fingerprinting!

TODAY'S A GREAT DAY FOR SOME CADET BASKETBALL!
Join us in cheering on our athletes as they continue their journey in the #UILState Playoffs! The boys take on Houston Yates in the AREA round tonight at 6:00 PM at A&M Consolidated High School. The girls take on Madisonville in the REGIONAL SEMIFINAL round at Bryan High School at 8:00 PM.

The fourth Intervention Friday for the second semester will be held this week on February 23. Parents of students who are required to attend classes on this date have been notified. Students who have been selected for additional instruction on intervention days are required to attend, per Sec. 25.085 of the Texas Education Code.
Campus doors will open for drop off at 7:30. Instruction lasts from 8:00 to 12:00. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. School bus transportation is available for any student who needs it - see the attached picture that explains the changes to bus routes/schedules.
