Connally ISD is excited to offer STEM Camps for students in our district throughout the 2024 summer break! Camps are open to any student that is currently enrolled in 3rd-8th grade. Registration costs $50.00 per student.
Camp will be held at Connally Junior High School from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day. Bus transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for all participants.
Session 1 will run from May 28 to June 6. Session 2 will run from June 11 to June 20. Session 1 will give students the opportunity to take classes in Coding with Drones & Robots & Drone Soccer as well as Content Creation. Session 2 offers opportunities in E-Sports and Creating & Entrepreneurship.
We are excited about the learning opportunities that each of these classes provide for our students. Did you know that E-Sports is all about using video games that students already play - like Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros - to teach them important skills like collaboration, clear communication, and cooperation in team settings? E-Sports has taken America by storm in the last couple of years. A large number of colleges and universities offer significant scholarships to students that participate in E-Sports.

Today was the first annual Connally ISD College, Career, and Military Readiness Day! We had a great time watching students from each of our campuses talk to the wide variety of professionals that were eager to explain what their jobs and organizations had to offer!

Congratulations to CHS freshman Kenniddi Shed! As a member of the Mentor Waco program, she participated in a poetry competition sponsored by the Waco Community Race Relations Coalition. Her performance was ranked 3rd overall at the "Night of Poetic Expression" event. This placement came not only with recognition, but also a monetary award!
