Staff at the Connally ISD Administration Building got to have some Halloween fun today when students from our daycare stopped by for trick or treating! We don't know what is sweeter - these tiny Connally Cadets all dressed up in their costumes or the candy that they'll be taking home?

Our elementary students are having a great time celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Today was our annual Red Ribbon Week Parade. Our CES students got to team up with students from Connally High School as they marched down Cadet Way and showed their commitment to living drug free!

LET'S KEEP THIS MOMENTUM GOING! Congratulations to our varsity football team for their impressive performance tonight against the Lorena Leopards! The Cadets are now 2-1 in district play! The next game will be held on November 1 at La Vega.

Connally ISD would like to assure all parents and community members that the safety of our students and staff is a top priority in our district. For this reason, we are notifying you that this afternoon, October 24, 2024, students at Connally Elementary School were approached at the fence line of their playground by an unknown individual who attempted to speak to them. Teachers that were serving as recess monitors at the time immediately intercepted the encounter and promptly escorted all of the students back into the building. They also immediately notified campus administrators and the Connally ISD Police Department. Officers from the Connally ISD and City of Lacy Lakeview Police Departments were on the scene within minutes of being notified. They were able to intercept the unknown individual, who had continued walking along the fence line and had made it past the Connally Early Childhood Center, and detain him. We are incredibly thankful that our students reacted to this situation in a quick and safe way. Their actions - along with the well-executed, professional response by CISD faculty members - helped ensure that no one was hurt. The district is diligently investigating the situation to ensure the continued safety of our school family. Thank you for your patience with this matter.

October gives us the opportunity to spotlight two very important groups of people that are critical in our daily operations at Connally ISD! This month is Principal Appreciation Month! Our students and staff and lucky to work with the best leaders you could ever hope for! October 9 is designated as Texas Education Human Resources Day. Our Human Resources Department features two outstanding professionals - Bertha Perez and Keith Hannah. They work tirelessly to ensure that we can recruit, hire, and retain the most outstanding employees to work with our Cadets. We loved having the opportunity to recognize these groups at this month's board meeting! We appreciate all that they do to represent the #CadetStandard!

GOOD NEWS ALERT! Connally ISD has received ANOTHER Superior Achievement FIRST rating. This is the highest rating a district can receive from the TEA. The TEA FIRST Rating, developed by the Texas Education Agency, is a financial accountability system that assesses school districts on their fiscal management and overall financial health. It evaluates critical indicators such as budgetary practices, financial stability, and operational efficiency. This rating helps ensure that districts are using resources effectively, promoting transparency and accountability to taxpayers while fostering better educational outcomes for students. The TEA FIRST Rating examines several key indicators, including the adequacy of fund balances, debt management, and compliance with financial reporting standards. It also looks at the district’s ability to meet financial obligations, the efficiency of spending, and the effectiveness of budget planning. By analyzing these metrics, the TEA FIRST Rating provides a comprehensive view of a district's financial health, helping to ensure responsible stewardship of public funds. Connally ISD has consistently received the highest rating possible. The district remains committed to doing all that it can to provide for our staff and students while operating in the best interest of the taxpayers that support us!

Please join us in congratulating Hannah Dowlin as a graduate of Lakeview Academy! Hannah was recognized at last night's board meeting for having met all of the requirements laid out by the Connally Independent School District and the Texas Education Agency to receive her diploma. We are very proud of her and cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes. We hope that she will continue to represent the #CadetStandard with pride as she moves forward in life!

Local law enforcement agencies are sharing an educational presentation at Connally Elementary School today. Please do not be alarmed if you see increased law enforcement presence near the campus.

Good luck to the CHS Marching Band as they compete in the UIL Region 8 Marching Contest at the Midway ISD Stadium today! The Cadet Marching Band takes the field at 10:45 to perform their contest show, "Shattered"! We can't wait to see how they do!

“NO MATTER WHAT THE SCORE, THE CONNALLY SPIRIT WILL NOT BE UPSET!” Our Cadets came up short against a tough team from Robinson tonight. We are proud of their strong effort and have no doubt that they will use it as momentum for future games! The next varsity football game will be held on October 25 at Lorena.
