New Administrators At Connally ISD

We are excited to announce the names of two administrators who will serve in key leadership roles for the upcoming school year!

Dr. Amy Hosick will serve as Connally ISD's Chief Education Officer. Dr. Hosick has three decades of experience as an educator in public schools, serving as a middle school teacher, secondary principal, and a district executive leader. She is passionate about helping educators serve their communities with innovative programming and aligned support systems for student outcomes. Dr. Hosick believes in educating the whole child through a balance of social engagement, academics, and high-interest extracurriculars. Her professional experience includes overseeing strategic state initiatives, supervising and supporting school leaders, developing curriculum, and ensuring instruction is aligned to the state curriculum. Through strong communication, collaboration, and creativity, Dr. Hosick has led school growth in all areas of accountability, resulting in “A” letter ratings and Distinction Awards from the Texas Education Agency.

Dr. Hosick has been recognized as a finalist for Principal of the Year, advised districts on state initiatives, conducted research on supporting school leaders in K-12 schools, and has led high-performing schools specializing in blended and problem-based learning. She is an advocate for deeper learning and community-based partnerships and is honored to lead the instructional framework in Connally ISD as the Chief Education Officer.

Mrs. Betsy Burnett will serve as Connally Elementary School's principal. The campus will be located at 100 Little Cadet Lane, Elm Mott, TX 76640 (the current Connally Primary School) and will serve students enrolled in Pre-K through 5th grade. Betsy Burnett has worked in public education for 19 years, the past 12 of which have been as a campus and central office level administrator. She most recently served as the Executive Director of Leadership and Development for Connally ISD, a position which gave her the opportunity to provide instructional leadership on all of the district’s campuses. Mrs. Burnett has also overseen the development and implementation of the Teacher Incentive Allotment program for Connally ISD, which awarded $696,000 in funds to high performing teachers in the 2025-2026 school year. Mrs. Burnett has taught several subjects ranging from kindergarten to high school science, and has an extensive background in school improvement initiatives. She is eager to lead our Pre-K through 5th grade campus and continue her work in Cadet Nation!
We are tremendously excited to celebrate these educators as they step into their new roles. Great things are on the horizon for Connally ISD!
